  • Road to Vostok is designed as a PC game focusing on Windows and Linux.

Windows will be the main OS at launch and native Linux support comes few months after the launch.

In the future, I will also consider additional platforms like consoles (Playstation & Xbox) once the PC version has reached 1.0 status and all planned builds are delivered.

  • This project has been designed from the beginning as a replayable single-player game, because it gives the project certain freedoms that can’t be utilized in multiplayer projects.

Multiplayer games in this genre are extremely expensive to produce, maintain and have significant risks that are not reasonable for a solo-developer at this stage of production.

The implementation of Co-op would only happen after a successful and feature-rich single-player version.

  • Yes. The game already has many mechanics designed in a very "modding-friendly" way and proper modding support should certainly provide value to the game in the future.

Official modding support and necessary tools are going to be implemented before the full commercial release but the game is already compatible for modding.

You can find more modding related information and discussions on the project Discord server.

  • Road to Vostok uses free and open-source Godot Engine.

Godot is chosen for this project since it provides long-term development stability and unlimited customization thanks to it’s open-source MIT license.

  • Hi! My name is Antti and I’m the developer and creator of Road to Vostok.

I’m a former army lieutenant, visual game design teacher and I have more than 12 years of experience in the game industry.

I currently live in Finland and have worked as a full-time developer for Road to Vostok since June 2022.

  • You can use the contact form in the website, project Discord server or email directly to the developer: antti@roadtovostok.com

Keep in mind that even though you might not get a response to your message, developer still reads all of those, no matter what the subject is.

The developer also tries to read and view all feedback from social media, so if you make a comment, post, video or stream about the game, you can point out the feedback using tags @roadtovostok and #roadtovostok

  • Currently no, but multiple localization options will be implemented before the game leaves early access and reaches 1.0 status.
